Located on this site since 1915, the facility also serves as the Community Sports Centre, with Bowls, Indoor Bowls, Disc Golf and All Abilities Golf being offered and operating from the venue.Always available for the casual player as well as members, Mornington provides a good challenge among the foothills that are contained within the town belt.
Having celebrated more than 100 years on a largely unchanged layout, the course and club offer good access to the beginner and established player alike, a testing geography and routing of holes an insight into how golf was played in the early days and the challenges and fun this has always provided. The proximity to the city, accessibility to the course and with local café and curio businesses nearby by as well as the Island Bay beach and areas historical significance, all give good reason to visit and play.
From the city centre, travel up Taranaki Street and continue onto Wallace Street. Further up turn right onto Hutchison Rd which turns slightly left and becomes Dransfield St. Turn left onto Liardet St, then continue onto Britomart St with a final right onto Stanley St, which you will follow straight to the course.
